The Resort Location

     The village of Arshan is located 450 km away from Ulan-Ude, 230 km from Irkutsk and 130 km from Slyudyanka.

     The resort zone of Arshan is the amazing corner of the Siberian region. It is located in the unusually beautiful Tunka valley, at the foot of majestic Sayan mountains, sparkling in the sun with the snow-covered peaks almost year round.

     Arshan means fresh water, bright sun, dark-blue sky, wild virgin taiga, majestic cedars. In the mountains you can enjoy walking on luxurious Alpine meadows with the efflorescent poppies and lilies and the fluttering many-colored butterflies. In spring all the mountain slopes are covered with delicate pink color flowers.

     The Resort has mountainous climate. The position of the sun in the mountains increases ultraviolet radiation, which strengthens pulmonary ventilation and oxygen intake, which causes reduction of sugar in the blood and decreasing of blood tension. Thus the insensitivity of immune system to the infectious diseases is formed. The Tunka valley exceeds Crimea in total quantity of sunny days throughout the year.

     The Kyngarga mountain river (the word “kyngarga” is translated from the language of buryat people as " a drum"), flowing through the territory of the health resort zone, delights with its crystalline freshness and cleanliness. The waterfalls are located in its upper flow, the highest of which counts 10 meters. In whole on Kyngarga there are 12 waterfalls. The bottom of canyon, where the river flows, is covered with pink and yellow marble polished by water.

     The Tunka valley is famous for its mineral resources. Arshan has several carbonate springs of different temperature. Not far from the Resort some more springs are located in Nilova Pustyn (“Desert place”) and Zhemchug ("Pearl").

     Basic natural therapeutic properties of Arshan springs characterize as carbonated, slightly mineralized, siliceous, sulfate, bicarbonate, magneto- calcium, slightly acid thermal waters.
Sulfide mud contributes to the high effective treatment of the diseases of the digestive, urinary and endocrine system, blood circulation and, respiration system.

     Carbonated siliceous springs of mineral water are unique in the world. They are similar to the type of Vichy and Karlovy Vary (on silicon), but in contrast to the hot waters of these springs Arshan has its own original - cold carbonated siliceous water.
